Black Polo + Red Tie?

I attended a Christmas party two weeks ago and the requirement is to come in with a rockstar costume. So after a 3 day preparation and a dozen choices later, I found myself wearing a short-sleeved black polo plus a red tie.

It seems that the emo phenomenon is not yet over since I easily found this costume in department stores being the featured style of the moment. I have also seen quite a number of people months earlier in this get-up. It’s cool, and it makes you stand-out from the crowd.

Green Day, the band who sung “Wake me up when September ends” is one of those bands who built the trademark for this style. In fact, there is now a wide variety of this style ranging from blue polo shirt + yellow tie - name it and they’ve got it. The trick is to simply match a short-sleeved polo with a contrasting-colored tie.

If you are into this style, well it is really a head-turner since few have the gutts to wear them. But I strongly suggest to not wear them everyday, unless of course, you are a member of the band. It is really an attention-seeker. But if you really want to, then why not? What do you think?

I have a fit black polo in my closet, problem is, I have no right denim to match it with. Would u suggest dark skinny jeans to go with the get-up?

dark skinny jeans will do, I’m sure you’d look like a rockstar…
