Apple MacBook Air: Ultrathin Laptop

By: Chris 2 February 2008 277 views 5 CommentsEmail This Post Email This Post

If Motorola introduced Razr as one of the thinnest phones ever, Apple on the other hand introduced MacBook Air - the world’s thinnest laptop!

I have never thought that a laptop this thin would exist. Imagine, at its thickest point it measures only 0.76 inches!

Despite being thin, it comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2GB of Memory, 80GB Hard Disk Drive, Bluetooth and WiFi. I was just disappointed because it only has 1 USB Port. Perhaps get an extra USB hub? Also expect that a laptop this thin means there is no optical (CD/DVD) drive. You will have to bring an external one in case you need it!

Hey pareng Chris! Haha astig no? Featured it already on my blog before, talagang napa-wow ako when I got the newsletter from apple… Anyways, it’s aestheically pleasing, pero feature-wise, hindi masyado… Imagine no built in optical drive? 80gb whereas yung mga bago ngayon have as high as 320 - 500gb, and memory as much as 4mb and the list goes on… There are laptops worth $1800 or less which is worth more than what the Macbook-Air has to offer and it’s not bad on the looks department din, may mga maliliit and thin, although not as thin as apple’s pero specs-wise, naman nakakalula talaga… hehe… siguro bibili lang nito yung mga apple fanboys talaga or those who have nothing to do with their moneys, kasi if I had $1800, I would’ve bought a new laptop, a digital SLR, and much more… hehe… napahaba ata comment ko, na-excite kasi ako sa MacBook-Air eh, hehehe…

Haha, ok lang yan pareng marky! yea, siguro compared to this (and if I have the cash) I will get something like the Sony VAIO notebook. It’s a bit more expensive but the specs are one of the best! Plus it’s also small so it’s good.

I was just wondering though: if MacBook Air is so thin it could be brittle too. What happens when it gets dropped? :p

Haha yun din ang concern ko, let’s say maupuan or mahulog, syempre sira agad, parang sobrang fragile nya… of well, can’t judge it until I get my hands on one, hehehe…
