77% of PGG readers go to salons

I conducted a poll a couple of weeks ago and just found out that 77% of guys who read PGG go to salons instead of barbershops.

As for me, here is my take:

Barbershop
If I don’t need extreme styling with my hair I’ll just go for the barbershop. And since I like my hair short, I would more often go to the barbershop than to the salon - and yes, it’s cheap and easily accessible! But there are also barbershop in malls that are decent and recommendable like Kevin’s Cut.

Salon
If I will need to do some styling when my hair is a bit long, then there is no better place to go but to salons. They have lots of services including hair coloring (though, haven’t tried that yet). However, salons are quite expensive since their prices are more than double the price of barbershops. And of course don’t forget the tip you give to your hairstylist since this is compulsory even if not explicitly said.

Anyway these are just my thoughts on the two options. I’d like to hear your thoughts as well.

I go for the salon most of the time. Prefer their services, esp a nice hair wash. It’s a little expensive but worth a visit.

3 weeks after I did my hair at Benchfix, i decided to go to the barbershop to do some trimming because I’m short of money. I told the barber “just an inch trim”, and he said “ok”. I don’t know if he had a total insomnia problem last night, but I think he didn’t understood the 4 words i said.
After a minute or two, he said “done”. I was a little bit surprised because, usually when i go to saloons, it’ll take about 15 minutes to get your hair done, with all the pampering and shampooing of the hair before cutting it, it’s worth a penny i tell you. But when i looked myself at the mirror the second time around, I said “What the hell did you do to my hair?!”. I spent 270 bucks to get my hair done at Benchfix, and now you trimmed my hair like trimming tall grass in your own backyard. He just trimmed 3 inches.
It was a disaster really. It was then I realized, the the barber used an ordinary scissor, not the trimming type. He was also new to the job so i had to forgive him because i think no one’s perfect. *Chuckles* Before the disaster,I gave my full trust to the barber, trusted him that he’ll do his job perfectly. But i guess it’s my mistake to trust him.

GUys, i don’t discourage you to go to the barbershop nor encourage you to go to the saloon for a perfect hair treatment. Just be smart enough to know who your barber is, tell him/her the complete details of your desired hair, and you’ll be just fine.

    Paolo, I agree!

I thought I was the only one who noticed that the trimming-type of scissors is MAGIC compared to the ordinary scissors! The latter would really make you look like you’re having a 3 by 2 haircut for C.A.T!

I last went to a barber shop siguro high school pa.

College, always na ako sa salon. Natatakot na ako sa barber shop, parang berdugo pag gumupit. Minsan hindi pa pantay.

May ibang barbershops na walang alam sa bagong style kaya dapat mapili kayo.
