For me, every year it comes, always the same. It’s still cold during February but it seems it feels a lot colder than December.

What it’s like to be single? It’s a roller coaster ride of solitude when I sit in a bunch of happy couples at school, church, restaurants, annoyance at being asked for the Nth time why I don’t have a girlfriend yet, contentment from the freedom to travel at the spur of the moment, and grief over the unmet expectations for this phase of my life.

Here is a list of pick-up lines often used by women based on reader’s experiences and that of my own.

Unlike women, us men have all the choices of finding a girlfriend since more often than not, we are the ones who approach women and not the other way around - well at least in the Philippine setting. In my own experience back then, I used to have a list in my mind of the women I would consider dating and another list who I would never consider dating - “Just friends” as they call it.

Well lately, I have realized that finding a girlfriend is in many ways similar to job-hunting. If you come to think of it the two have plenty of similarities, some of which are listed down…
