I seriously had first, second, third and even N thoughts whether to buy this baby or not. Dude, more than 2,000 Pesos just for a pair of headphones? You might think I have gone nutts but when you hear the sound quality of this high-end headphones, I bet you will surely have forgotten the price. It’s all worth it and highly recommended if you are an audiophile like me who breathes music.

I feel like I’m a DJ when I’m using it. I remember when I played Jay Sean’s Down using this headphones. The bass and vibration gave me the feeling like I was in some dance club partying. It has a superb crisp sound and it’s very comfortable and stylish to wear. When I brought this to the office, I found my colleagues begging to borrow it. Everyone else wants one too. I even recommended this to my closest friends (who are audiophiles like me by the way) and they bought one for themselves as well. If you are planning to invest in a good pair of headphones, I suggest you try this one.

Speaking of Jay Sean’s Down, I just remembered that he will be here in Manila for a concert on September 3. If you’re a fan like me, let’s go and watch!

James Blunt – known for his 2005 hit “You’re Beautiful” just finished his concert at the Araneta Coliseum last Monday. Now here we have some more news about upcoming music events. So if you’re interested read on to make sure you won’t miss anything.

1. The Click Five – famous for songs like “Jenny“, “Just the Girl” and “Empty” will be in Manila to have a full-blown concert at the Araneta Coliseum on May 30, 2008. And since they are more of a Pop music band, expect that most of their fans are girls. But hey don’t get me wrong, their songs are really, really good!

2. Chris Daughtry’s band named after his surname Daughtry is coming to Manila this July 29, 2008 at 8PM in Eastwood. Chris Daughtry is a former American Idol contestant famous for his hit song “Home”

3. Westlife is back?
This is interesting. I heard their new single “Something right” in the airwaves last week. And I’m surprised that after so many years they remain to be a strong band even if they lost one of their members. Their new single sounds like the Westlife we used to know in the early 2000′s but hey, it’s quickly topping the hit charts even during today’s alternative/rock-band era.

I totally love the concept of the angel and devil drinking Coke – seems like the softdrink company is boosting it’s advertising and sales for the summer. I was really impressed with the advertisement and you’re right, I fell in love with the angel too.

Now if you’re wondering, the title of the beautiful song used in the commercial is “Ang Sarap Dito” by Project 1 – a superband formed by vocalists/members of existing OPM bands. Interesting enough? Of course – take a look at the list of Project 1 members:

Sean Kingston Live at Ayala Malls!
Too much for Coke’s angel and devil. As for other music updates, I guess it’s a bit late to put it here but Sean Kingston fans have a reason to celebrate since he has a live mall tour at Ayala Malls starting April 17, 2008 at Glorietta Activity Center. So if you like “Beautiful Girls”, “Me Love” as well as his remix versions with Fergie and Natasha Bedingfield, then don’t miss the opportunity to watch!

By now you must have already heard that Maroon 5 is coming to Manila on March 5 to stage a Live concert at the Araneta Coliseum. Popular hits of the band include “This Love”, “She will be loved”, “Must get out” and lots more. The Grammy Award winning group is a must-see. Ticket prices are listed as follows:

It’s quite expensive though and I also find it odd that they are doing it on a Wednesday instead of a weekend.

While I understand that not all Pinoy Guy Guide readers are fans of the band, I still hope that there are some here sharing the same sentiments.

I was at The Fort with my friend last January 25 where the band went live here in Manila. The experience is beyond any other entertainment event I’ve ever attended to. The band plus the audience had just too much energy that I felt my adrenaline-rush all over me for the entire 1.5-hour music concert.

Their performance of my favorites: “Welcome to the black parade”, “Famous Last Words”, “Teenagers”, “Helena” and “I don’t love you” was amazing! I like the way their vocalist, Gerard, sang their music. It sounded exactly the way it did on their album which is something that doesn’t normally happen on live concerts!

I was just a little disappointed with the venue. Since this is a rock concert, the organizers should have removed the chairs since people stand and jump during these types of concerts. The chairs just consumed a lot of space in a way that members of the audience didn’t have a chance to come closer to the band.

Anyway, Kudos to My Chemical Romance for a perfect performance! Guys, if you happened to miss this one, there are still many more artists coming your way for concerts. I’ll post updates soon.

The question is, have you ever heard of the band before or is this the first time? Did they slip away like what their first song is all about?…

This is because the song “Slipping Away” topped FM radio hits for several weeks in the first quarter of 2007. What is frustrating is that no matter how great their song is, I couldn’t find it in music stores and to the best of my knowledge no one has a copy of the song yet up to now. Accordingly, they haven’t released their album yet. It’s been such a long time that fans have been waiting for the album and several months later it is still not yet out. I hope they will release it soon because I’ll be one of the firsts to buy!

It seems that there is literally an “invasion” of foreign music artists happening here in the Philippines after we’ve seen lots of them coming consecutively for the past few months.

As for the ticket prices, here is what I’ve seen in the TV advertisement a few days ago:

GOLD – 3,750 Pesos
SILVER – 2,500 Pesos
General Admission – 400 Pesos

Now I wonder, who else here is a fan of My Chemical Romance?

Just a bit of trivia, these guys were actually here in the Philippines for a concert tour last October. They have actually produced excellent pop/alternative-rock songs like “Catch your wave” and “Just the girl”. In fact this hit song “Jenny” topped hit charts in Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.

This song “Jenny” is for guys who are really confused with girls who are fickle-minded (lol). See the lyrics here to understand what I’m saying. Anyway, I recommend everyone to get a copy of their album if you have some money. They are actually good though I don’t really understand the reason why boy bands seem to have lost its appeal in the country these days (unlike in the late 90′s). Could anyone enlighten me why? The Click Five is very good in my opinion.

What made me enjoy more the night I went to Eastwood was the gig-type performance of Silent Sanctuary who happened to be a guest band at the Globe Kantabataan. In case you are not aware, this band sang the popular song entitled “Ikaw Lamang”
