In this post, Pinoy Guy Guide contributor, Tim, shares his own experience on bikini wax.

Gone were the old tales when the art of waxing was only reserved for the opposite sex for that hair-free baby feeling. In today’s time, even men – yes, as in us guys – are now opting for a hair-free feeling, ahem, down south.

We do not usually discuss such topics to our guy peers whenever we talk about vanity. But did you know that going hair-free down south has its own advantages? In terms of health, it reduces sweat down south especially when you are exposed to the sun therefore, making you feel more comfortable than ever. Also, in terms of aesthetics, no unwanted hair would be seen when you are wearing just your underwear or swimming trunks. You will look clean, neat and soft. Best of all, it will give emphasis down there.

Bikini wax only covers hair above the jewel and those that are in our inner thighs. If you want, you can suggest to have all the hair above completely removed, or leave just a little, or have the treasure trail hair waxed or not. In my case though, I refused having my treasure trail waxed.

My experience of Bikini wax was caused by pure curiosity on how it feels like. For first-timers, the typical “ouch and &@*#@” are inevitable. As a matter of fact, I even suggested a minute break from the therapist for each waxed area. It took me almost an hour for the session, and several breaks in-between in order to restore myself.

Words to describe the results thereof are: clean, smooth, soft, and neat.

Note that bikini wax is different from Brazilian wax. Bikini only covers the hair above and that in our inner thighs, while Brazilian covers all hair beneath down under, including those which we are unaware of.

For the PGG readers out there, would you dare to have a bikini/Brazilian wax in order to save yourself from trimming?

It’s more like a woman’s facial scrub so I was surprised that men are actually using it. Anyway, I was wondering why they haven’t released the men’s version here. I went to Neutrogena’s website today and they do have a complete product line-up for men.

Nokia will run out of names for N-Series phones due to huge volumes they release every year. I think they will need to come up with a new cellphone naming convention. It’s quite noticeable that they have tendencies to reuse names of old cellphone models as we have seen with Nokia 3110.

ASUS EEE PC will “not be that” ubiquitous.
Just because the 199-dollar laptop is now readily available in the Philippines, you’d see quite a number of people using it. But due to its limited features, some will reconsider if they will indeed get one or choose a full-blown laptop instead.

Alcatel mobile phones will become better than ever
For the past year, we have seen Alcatel releasing very nice cellphones suited for everyone at a very low price. This year they will take their products to the next level and push their market to Filipinos.

Everyone will own a MyPhone Duo or any of the cellphone clones
It seems that lots of Filipinos are jumping into the bandwagon of owning a dual-sim mobile phone. So whether it is a MyPhone Duo or simply a cellphone clone – the ability to be reached using two mobile networks at the same time using a single phone seems to be getting fashionable even for guys these days. And by the end of the year I may even find myself owning one of these phones.

i’m jake and I am an avid reader of your blog :p

a couple of weeks ago I got curious and tried using the facial cleanser from tricks, they call it exfocleanser. it says in the bottle that it has a “micro-exfoliating action” aside from that it claims that it has anti bacterial properties as well. it also says that it is more potent than the leading brand (master??)
i got the oil control (violet) one and i tried it out for 2weeks, as of now it really works well for me. i am wondering whether you have tried this product and i was hoping that you give a review on this so us guys can be better informed on the product specifics which up to now confuses me. btw, i was a user of the classic master facial cleanser.

Honestly, I haven’t tried this before since it is a relatively new product. Moreover, I usually stick to soap and water and seldomly use facial cleansers for men because I am quite careful in selecting which ones to use. The best advice I could give when choosing face products for men is to check if the product is dermatologically-tested and approved. Also, when trying out a product, apply a small portion on your neck and check if it has any effects on you (e.g. itching, allergies etc) before applying to your face. If it has, then you should not use it anymore.

Going back to the product, I am glad that Jake here has tipped us that Tricks indeed works. However, we all need to understand that what may be effective for some may not be effective for others. It’s up to you to choose and try what is best for you.

Anyway, has anyone ever tried this product? I like to hear what your feedbacks are.

1. Wash your face
Your face is the first thing that other people notice. More than anything else, it’s very important to keep your face pimple-free and acne-free. Wash your face at least twice a day. Using Master DermaClear-C to remove pimples is effective for me. You could try that too.

2. You can try to use whitening soaps
If you want to whiten your skin, I suggest you try whitening soaps since these are safe and effective to use. Remember to choose one which is dermatologically-tested. You could also check out Nivea for Men products. Though I haven’t tried it, I’ve received feedback that it’s good.

Anyway some PGG reader emailed me asking what shaver do I recommend that is durable, inexpensive and easy to refill?

Well as for me, I would recommend Gillette Vector Plus. It’s cheap (costs around 42 Pesos), it’s everywhere (so it’s easy to refill) and the blades are inexpensive costing around 40 Pesos for a pair. Based from experience, using the shaver is fast, easy and very gentle on the skin.

Though the Gillette Mach 3 is of course a top-of-the-line shaver, I would rather use the Gillette Vector Plus because it costs little and it’s durable. Mine is already more than a year and I’m just loving it because it is a Gillette Vector Plus World Cup Limited Edition – perfect for a soccer fan like me!

As for the shaving cream, I use Gillette Foamy Lime. Smells good, gentle on skin and costs less – 50 Pesos which is good for about 6 months (depending on frequency of use). What more could you ask for?

And to finish off my shaving session, I sometimes use an aftershave though not always. So how about you guys? What do you recommend? Anyone here using Schick or other Gillette variants?

I tried their other products as well for the sake of curiosity but Dermaclear-C would be the best. The others do not seem to do any improvement but this one is a best-seller, not only because of what it does but more so due to it being very inexpensive.

I guess if you’re having pimples and wanting to get rid of them, You bet dude you should try this one.
