Ever wondered if you will become infertile if your balls got kicked? Or have you been thinking for a solution to your thinning hair? In this post, Jessie tells us answers to frequently asked questions on men’s health.

My breath stinks man, what can I do?
Give me three people around you right now and chances are, one of them is suffering from bad breath, or halitosis, at one time or another. Studies show that about 30% of Pinoys are affected by this. It may be caused by many factors, such as gum disease, smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages, eating food including onions and garlic, and of course lack of regular dental check.

To minimize the effects of bad breath and to keep you in the hunt for a girlfriend, you need to brush your teeth twice a day. Brush your tongue and gargle like you mean it. Refrain from eating food that contains a handful of onions and garlic. Last but not the least - go to your dentist at least 3-4 times a year. If you work in a company that offers free medical and dental check-ups, make the most out of it.

My hair is starting to thin. Is it time to let go?
Baldness patterns in males are cause by a combination of genetics and hormonal imbalance. So don’t go blaming your dad about it. The imbalance that occurs inside of you makes hair follicles decrease in size, thus making your hair silky smooth. Literally. As in silky thin. So there are actually two things that a man can do: Hold on to it and try to feed it with the right nutrients (botanical hair tonics like ‘Retane’ might do the trick since it contains Vitamins B5, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E) to keep the growth cycle or just let it go and shave it completely to have that bad ass look your girlfriend have been wanting all along.

I sweat like crazy. Is there anything I can do?

Sweating is a natural thing. Never be ashamed about it. Even the hottest FHM cover girls sweat about twice a day, regardless of their daily activities. It’s our bodies natural way of regulating its core temperature. However, for guys whose sympathetic nervous system works at an extremely high level of activity - leading to abundant sweating - it is indeed a problem. That problem is called ‘Hyperhidrosis’. Fortunately, there are a lot of methods that can help reduce or regulate your excessive sweating. Using antiperspirants are probably the most common one, but if you have the money and time, you can consult your physician who can prescribe drugs or ‘iontophoresis’ therapy ( its that thing doctors do when they apply a low intensity of electricity to your body). Last option is of course, surgery. But like I said awhile ago, sweating is a normal thing, if it doesn’t kill you - don’t worry about it too much.

Can I become infertile if kicked in the balls?

No man should ever experience this horrifying ordeal of getting kicked in the nuts. It hurts like hell. Ever wondered why a soft gentle hand on the groin (use your imagination guys) can automatically give you that arousal while a solid smack on the your ‘member’ can easily put you on your knees, screaming in excruciating pain. Reason being is that the groin area has the most concentration of nerves in the entire human body. But the question is - Will it make you sterile?

It could if it was severely damaged. If the hit resulted to bruises and bleeding under the skin, then better cancel all your dates and see a doctor right away. It is possible to be infertile, but the chances are slim.

Note from Chris:

I don’t know if it’s true, but I read somewhere that if a man is kicked very hard in the balls, it could actually lead to death. Well, whether it’s true or not we all know how painful it is. So guys, keep your defenses up - and don’t cheat on your girlfriends!

Mossimo silver-black messenger bag
[5 Oct 2008 | 4 Comments | 474 views]

(front view)

The last time I posted about messenger bags was like ages ago. But since these bags are still in the mainstream, I’d like to feature one which I bought two weeks ago. I call it my Mossimo silver-black messenger bag.

(back view)

If you have been a reader of PGG in the past few months, you would know that i have this thing for the silver-black combination on shoes, jackets, pants, and yes - even bags. So the moment I saw this one at the Mossimo shop I immediately bought it.

So what do I personally like about this bag?

1. Color - I’m just lovin’ the silver/black thing.

2. Size - not too big, not too small. So it’s really hip for those going to school, office or even gimmicks

3. Lots of pockets. Aside from the ones at the front and back, check out those two on the sides. I got lots of stuff to put in there.

4. Earphone hole. I’m aware that lots of bags have that. As an audiophile, I really need one for my music player and having all of the above features makes it a perfect bag for me.

So, what do you think?

Dating Beyond Dining
[1 Oct 2008 | 8 Comments | 448 views]

Today, PGG contributor Jecoup, tells several activities you can do when taking your girl out for a date.

When people date, most of you will probably visualize a couple sharing an intimate dinner in a posh restaurant then maybe after dining they would go out and watch a movie.

But seriously, dating should not just be confined in the four walls of a restaurant or a cinema house. Not that these concepts are bad but if you do that all the time wouldn’t it be, well, predictable and boring? And I’m sure you would not want your relationship to end up like that, right?

So spice up your dating life! Try to consider the following tips on alternative dating activities:

1. Play Sports

If you are both athletic why not try this option and play a sport like badminton, tennis or bowling? Of course, if you choose this you and your loved one will really need to sweat it out but for sure you will have fun. In case your girlfriend does not know how to play any sport, this could be an excellent opportunity for you to teach her how to play one. Not only will the two of you have fun together, you will also open the door for her to learn something new.

2. Videoke

You and your special lady may not be a potential Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer but who cares anyway? There are many videoke bars in the city and you could even find one in malls where you could have private videoke rooms. There you could sing your hearts out without inhibitions and your dream of serenading your girl is possible. You could also compete on who will get the best scores and the punishment every time one loses is a kiss. Isn’t that sweet?

3. Spa

Who says spas are just for the ladies? It is certainly not! Why just settle on waiting at the reception area? You could join your significant other and try one of the services like foot spa, body massage among others. This would delight your lady love and at the same time you will have an opportunity to release stress. And after the treatments are done you two will both feel recharged and alive to go on to do other activities together.

4. Nature Tripping

Being one with nature unleashes a romantic atmosphere - so why not give a shot on nature tripping for a date? You could try mountain climbing, I know it sounds so tiring but for starters you could try going to Taal Volcano, cross the Taal Lake and go horseback riding to the crater. There is also the well-known Villa Escudero wherein you could ride a carabao-powered cart or try bamboo rafting in the river. Moreover, you could also visit the La Mesa Eco Park where you could just stroll while holding hands appreciating the natural beauty of the environment.

5. Road Trip

This is recommended for couples who are city dwellers. Why not set one weekend and go on a road trip to a province nearby? For example, visit Laguna or Cavite and go from one town to another. You will be amazed that there are underrated wonders in these provinces. This will also be an opportunity for both of you to detoxify from your busy lives in the city.

6. Stargazing

Dating need not be expensive as you think and this activity proves so. On a good night, you could set up a picnic on your roof top where you and your significant other would just stare at the sky and appreciate its beauty. This scenario sets a romantic mood and you might be surprised that this could also be an opportunity for you and your loved one to talk about the present and the future with the stars in the sky as witnesses. Isn’t that romantic?

Whatever activity you choose you should always keep in mind that what is important when we date are the memories that serve as foundations for a strong and long-lasting relationship.
