Take a look at these shots below. For some reason, I am starting to like the formal look of the coat combined with the casual look of the jeans and slip-on shoes. It is a style that looks like a hybrid between formal wear and casual wear. Nevertheless, it really makes any guy dressed to kill…

So maybe you are wondering: “What should one wear inside the coat?”. The answer is simple – any t-shirt will do. Just make sure that the colors of the coat, shirt and jeans complement one another.

These coats are everywhere – in department stores and even in local men’s boutiques (Penshoppe has lots of them). They usually cost 3,000 Pesos and up. I want to get one of these but my only problem is that our office dress code is more of casual and I’m afraid that wearing a coat, even though with jeans, might still make me look overdressed.

It is nice to wear these coats and jeans in parties if you want to catch women’s attention. It is a surefire headturner!

So yesterday, I had plenty of time to spare so I went with my brother and with my parents to visit the shop. It is located in Newport Mall at Resorts World Manila just across NAIA terminal 3.

Just an FYI. Resorts World Manila is such a beautiful place. It has a 6-star hotel (the only one in the country), a casino and a high-class mall. Very luxurious indeed. I’ll try to cover Resorts World Manila in future posts.

Now going back to Porsche Design, here is a quick look at their products. Click image to zoom in.

Their products will blow you away. They are not cheap and are for those dudes who are looking for signature, high-quality and luxurious products. A pair of shoe costs around 12,000 Pesos. A pair of sandals cost around 14,000 Pesos. And a watch? I have seen one costing as much as 130,000 Pesos (No joke. That is not a typo error. It is the actual tag price I have seen). But hey, if you are like Manny Pacquiao who has tons of cash to burn, why not?

Anyways, aren’t you curious why the shop is called Porsche Design? Well that is because its parent company is Porsche AG (pronounced as Porsh-uh), the same company that produces every guy’s dream car.

What’s good about it is that it accentuates your waist. This is particularly good if you want people (especially the girls) to notice your belt, your jeans as well as your flat stomach. The trick is to tuck-in the front part of your shirt a bit to show off the belt.

Just for the record, the waiters at Max’s restaurant are very lucky! They happen to have a very stylish and trendy uniform. Just take a look at their red belt, their polo and their jeans. Too cool to be a uniform huh?

I really like Giordano shirt because of the simplicity yet decent and trendy style of the shirt. I also like the number 10 design in the arm sleeve because if you may ask I’m a basketball player and my jersey number in all my jersey is 10. I’m looking for an original polo shirt/shirt that has a number 10 as design. I don’t like to buy those shirts from Divisoria because I preferred to have the original. Having an original Giordano polo shirt is one of my wishes for this coming Christmas I hope you will grant it and be my Santa for the Christmas this year.

One of the things that I look for when I buy shirts is the comfort that it brings to me when I wear it. Based on my prior experiences with Giordano shirts, truly, comfort is a benchmark of every Giordano product. In addition to that, the Giordano Lion Polo shirt is a unique style that draws attention, strike up a conversation and subsequently gives one a positive feeling about yourself. Truly, Giordano is a fashion statement in itself.

Let me experience the hype of Giordano! I never had one. Especially polo shirt. My father does, but my mom won’t allow me to wear it because she was the one who bought it. Due to curiosity, I wore it once secretly. And to tell the truth, it was like OOHLALA. “Is this me?” Girls can’t take their eyes off me. And it was like a dream. They carry numerous brands in their store but one brand that stood out for me in particular was Avirex, a brand also owned by Marc Ecko. I just couldn’t resist the temptation to buy so I gave in and bought this shirt below. Notice how stylish the shirt is both at the front…

…and at the back.

I wanted to buy both colors from the same design but I thought it was kind of silly to do so. So I just bought the yellow one since I already have plenty of green shirts in my wardrobe. What’s cooler was these shirts were on 50% off when I bought one last week. If you want one too, hurry to their store ASAP!

I will certainly keep an eye on the Avirex brand and the American Rag Cie store. They really have outstanding, not to mention inexpensive apparel for style-conscious boys like us. I suggest you check them out too.

Mind you that the cartoon prints are from Larry Alcala, a renowned Filipino Cartoonist. At first, it might seem bizarre to see comic sketches on shirts, shorts, vests and even long-sleeves but if you come to think of it – isn’t it cool to wear one of these? After all, fashion is just a freedom of expression. The prints actually make you feel and look younger too.

Their clothes are definitely for modern guys who love that “porma” look. Most of their styles are really extraordinary and unique. You will find it hard to find similar styles in other shops.

I didn’t have any intentions to buy clothes at that time because as I mentioned, I was there to buy a book and not clothes. But still, I ended up buying a short sleeve stylish dress shirt below which was on sale. It originally costs 1,699 Pesos but they sold it to me for only 999 Pesos.

It looks better in actual and when wearing it than the pictures above – I’m just not so good in photography. Pairing it with khakis or beige slacks is perfection! It also goes well with jeans.

And speaking of Philosophy, they only have two branches. One, as I mentioned, is at Bonifacio High Street (The Fort, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig) and the other is at SM Mall of Asia (Pasay City).

Now here’s the catch. Before my friend and I left, I looked around to see if I could buy anything else. To my surprise, I saw shirts which appear to be “for women”.

I asked them: “Isn’t this a men’s shop? Why are you selling shirts which look like uhm…”

My friend interrupted: “A blouse?”

The sales clerk answered: “Yeah it is a men’s shop.”

Me: “Then why do you have men’s clothes in that section where I bought my polo shirt and women’s clothes over here at the back of your store?”

Sales clerk: “The clothes here at the back are not for women. They are also for men. These shirts which look so flamboyant are for the metrosexuals and gays.”

Me: “So you sell clothes for straight men, metrosexuals and uhm, gays?”

Sales clerk: “Yeah, that’s our niche.”

Me: “WTF!”

My friend laughed out loud. And so did I.

Then I walked out of the shop with my new shirt feeling half the man I used to be.
