Although we are getting occasional rains, the summer sun and the skin-tanning heat is still up. So what’s the best look these days in terms of hairstyle + headgear?

Wearing that glossy baseball cap is one thing…

… the other thing is to sport your hair so that your bangs flow downward (or sideways) your forehead – seemingly trying to escape your cap – like the way I wore my cap in my photo below.

Simple? It is. After all, if you observe around, this is one of the hottest styles for men of this year’s summer – that baseball cap and bangs look!

Manila & Pilipinas on Collezione’s Summer Shorts for Men

As far as I know, Collezione C2 is a brand that started those T-shirts with a Philippine map. Remember those shirts which President Noy wore during last year’s election campaign? Well Collezione was one of those who initiated that phenomenon. They seem to be a nationalistic brand and their main focus is producing Philippine-themed clothing.

Today I’m featuring a couple of their men’s shorts which are cool to wear this summer.

At initial glance, you might think that these shorts just sport some odd, abstract design but upon closer look, you will slowly recognize the words “MANILA” and “PILIPINAS” written on it.

These monochromatic shorts cost a bit high (around 1400 Pesos). Nevertheless, they are perfect to pair with any brightly colored top thereby putting you on the top of your style this summer.

It’s all about stripes for Solo’s summer collection

By now you should be feeling the hot weather during noon time. It seems like summer came in a bit late this year but that’s no excuse not to have fun and style.

Today, Pinoy Guy Guide features the summer collection from Solo and it’s all about stripes and colors.

Interestingly enough, those models wearing the stripe summer collection from Solo are Mehran Khaledi and Phoebe Rutaquio. They are the winners of Solo’s Online Model Search 2011 which I featured a few months ago and they will be the official endorsers of the brand throughout the year.

Anyway, when I went to Solo’s boutique, there is one kind of stripe which caught my attention. It’s their men’s striped tank top (sando) with hood.

Pretty cool I must say! It’s not too often that you would find a men’s hoodie sando so this one is definitely a must-have before you hit the beach this summer season. Check out more of those stripes at Solo stores.

When boardshorts are not just for summer

Don’t be surprised when you see people wearing boardshorts going to the mall. It seems that this type of shorts have become part of casual men’s wear and they are no longer just for summer. Have a look at these new boardshorts from clothing company Lee Pipes and Jag Thug.

If you noticed they changed the design a bit (from bright summer colors to casual wear designs). I guess no one would like to wear something during the rainy season that would make them look like they are heading to the beach.

Shades of Summer

The past few days have been rainy that I almost forgot that it’s still summer. Oh no, what happened to the climate?

Anyway, I bought a couple of stylish, inexpensive shades for the hot season as shown in the photos below:

I don’t really buy costly sunglasses for two reasons. First, is that I’m not used to wearing any type of glasses since I have 20/20 vision (based on my last check-up). Second, is that you wouldn’t wear them everyday unless you are on field work during noon or you just like wearing shades even if there is no sunlight (a big NO-NO). For these reasons, I only get myself sunglasses for summer trips to the beach.

As you can see, big, aviator sunglasses are still the in thing for men today. But it doesn’t really suit everyone because it depends on the shape of one’s face. I’m happy that these sunglasses look good on me. How about you?
