I have a new favorite brand of shoes – Creative Recreation.
I first found out about this brand of shoes a couple of months ago at the launching of Complex Store, a shoe shop in Eastwood Mall. Complex Store carries several brands of shoes but what stood out for me is Creative Recreation (there’s something awesome about the name and their product line).
They are not your ordinary shoes and there is something unique about them. When the founders of Creative Recreation were asked during an interview of what category their shoes belonged to they said that they didn’t want to be put into the category of formal, casual, leather or any shoe type. All that they said was Creative Recreation is a “lifestyle shoe”.
Some people got confused with the term “lifestyle shoe”. But personally, I do like their idea. It’s like having that particular favorite shoe that you’d like to wear on almost all occasions possible – office, school, gimmicks, parties, dates or even vacations. This is really good news for students without school uniforms and for yuppies who would like to wear groovy shoes. Most offices these days in Manila are less strict in implementing formal clothing so I guess lots of guys could probably wear this type of shoes at work.
Now let’s take a look below at some of Creative Recreation’s latest collection. You’ve got to love them all as much as I do.

Lifestyle shoes. I guess the company is aiming for “omnipotence” in the market. Well, I think this is worth a try.

cr8ive recr8ion was been on the scene for awhile catering the so called lifestyle segment. did they mention about the milano line? this is their upscale line, a bit pricier almost 3x the price of their regular line. because it’s manufactured in italy, prolly same factory where common projects, lanvins from 4 years ago, raf simon… they all share the same ubiquitous white rubber sole. actually, CPs and cr8tv seems to have more in common for sharing a model or 2.
here are some alternative sneakers that seems to be taken for granted 🙂
1. converse chuck taylors – yup, the canvass classic remains to be an inspiration for high fashion designers. chuck’s design is present on $800 lanvins, $1,200 ann demeulemeester, $500 visvims, $400 common projects to name a few.
2. adidas samba – the original samba w/ the gum sole. it’s black CW can be decently paired w/ suit. samba has also spawned high priced versions from dior homme, maison martin margiela and visvim which ranges from $425 to $650 per pair.
3. vans – the classic plimsoll vans even its colorway is reminiscent on recent common project sneakers.
cool shoes! It’s a good thing they have low tops, ‘coz I don’t like wearing hi-tops unless I’m playing baskeball.
