I always have this negative impression sa mga aktibista.
Hindi ko alam kung ako lang ba or ganun din yung naffeel ng iba towards them.
Parang their intention is good pero hindi maganda yung ginagawa.
Weird lang.

yung arrested, hahah that was back in college. student activist ako at may immersion keme kami sa isang community. 5 o 6 ata kami nun, tapos 3 kami na minors. we're not informed na may curfew nun. so hinuli kami ng baranggay at dinala sa prisinto. I lied and I told them my name is Ryan Bangas (may bangas mukha ko nun). Hahhahaha. Good times.

Nakamove on na rin naman ako,pag lang talaga naaalala ko ang nangyaring yun sakin eh nababadtrip ako.

Ryan Bangas hahaha. Curfew lang naman pala. Ako muntik na rin dati, nahuli buong tropa, ayun siksikan sila sa selda. Buti tinamad akong lumabas.

Masarap makipag-usap sa aktibista, lalo pag lasing. Nung college ako, sa sobrang kalasingan at sobrang passionate nung kausap ko, di ko namalayan umiiyak na pala ako. Hindi naman ako na-attack nun, ramdam na ramdam ko lang talaga yung mga pinaglalaban niya.

Pero yun nga, like our friend jackxtwist here, the fire in him burnt out na rin. Ngayon ay regular employee na lang siya, iba rin kasi pag may family responsibilities ka na to think of. Yun na ang pinagkakaabalahan niya ngayon.

very valid observation ito. when I was in college, the activists are trying hard to set themselves apart from the crowd. tibackpack (tibak + backpack), patterned scarves, flipflops, long-hair (some got dreads). Btw, muntikan  na ako magpa dreads buti naalala ko may personality din pala ako.

i joined them because they speak really really good. makata type, akala mo nagba balagtasan. #fan

to your point last point, the method was radical somewhat in a university context (not sure kung before 2008 nagsunog na ng upuan pero alam ko after 2008 meron pang episodes ng pagsusunog). note that we resorted to that because the board of regents was not hearing out petitions, they even barred student regent from attending the meeting. so yun. not defending but just explaining the context.

kasi naman, how else would you want your activism be expressed if the normal/legal means fail? before this happened, GMA enacted a law that reduced budget to SUCs significantly to just a few billion pesos. UP system got about half of that tapos yung remaining half talo talo na. PUP system and its more than 2 dozens of campuses got 100 million. So yun. Walang appetite Congress that time to do anything about that.

exactly. they did not become an activist for nothing. AT HOY,  WALA PA AKONG PAMILYA UTANG NA LOOB.

Pero activist pa rin ako, pasimple nga lang. Like tolerance, climate change,

^ang labo ko pala dun sa last statement ko. Napaghalo ko ikaw and the other tibaks I know. Sila yung mga sari-sariling pamilya na. Tahimik na lang ngayon. Paminsan minsang post sa facebook just to stay relevant and up to date with the current issues. Pero I think hanggang ganun na lang. Di na sila sumasama sa demonstrations.
