"Models here are paid by project not by hour. Runway models can earn around 5000 pesos per catwalk. Print-ads and commercial modeling can earn you around 10,000 or more.

Unlike in other countries, the amount of money they pay a model is based on a model's popularity. If you wanna earn more money, you can't just model. You have to do TV, film, radio, or hosting if possible. Famous Philippines models like Wilma Doesnt and Melanie Marquez earn at around 50,000 - 100,000 pesos per catwalk.

The Philippines lack Runway models because Filipinos are not really a tall race. For runway, girls' height requirement is at least 5'7 and boys' at least 5'9. For commercial and print-ad, there's no height requirement. You just need good looks, gorgeous body, and a charming personality.

I'm sorry to say that if you're going to be a model, you cannot be picky over what jobs your going to get. There's no such thing as "regular" modeling jobs unless your just going to model for Tupperware catalogues. Most modeling jobs require daring and risque photo shoots and these are the type of jobs that pay good money. If you're not bold enough, maybe modeling isn't for you.

If you haven't taken modeling classes, you'll find applying for an agency difficult. Agencies usually look for people who already have training prior to their application. During summer, there are many places that offer modeling classes. John Robert Powers Acting and Modeling School Philippines offers modeling classes year round.
