Why do some Filipinos claim they have Spanish blood?

Spanish is known for mestizos and mestizas but they didn't do any good to our country when they came here and rule for 400 years. They consider themselves as elite and pinoys as Indios.

To those who claim they have Spanish blood, gusto lang nilang iparating sa atin na belong sila sa upper society at katulad sila ng paguugali ni Padre Damaso  :D ;D

isnt there reason to claim that we have spanish blood, since we were under the spaniards for years?
lumalabas dito na positive trait is for looks... mala fernando jose?
tapos sa ugali, fail kasi mala padre damaso?

1/2 Spanish 1/2 Bread
1/2 German 1/2 Shepherd
1/2 Chinese 1/2 Garter

In popular culture, when a priest was said to be like Padre Dámaso, it means that he is a cruel but respectable individual. When one says a child is "anak ni Padre Damaso" (child of Padre Dámaso), it means that the child's father's identity is unknown.

now I know what Padre Damaso means... I don't know if it's accurate though since it's from wikipedia
