Suki ako sa coffee shops. Minsan kasi pag tamad ako pumasok sa work, nag-wowork remotely nalang ako pag hindi work from home.
Ilan sa mga cafes na pinupuntahan ko yun "conducive din to do work". But that doesn't mean na tambay ako maghapon. Ika nga ni Tin aka Cofficehunter, may unspoken rule na in every 3 hours - get something to help the cafe. Business sila so might as well, get something else aside from a cup of coffee. Ilan sa mga gusto ko (in random order)
HABITUAL COFFEE (Chino Roces ave.) -
katabi ng Primal Ape CrossfitDRINK - I usually go for Hot Latte or Iced White.
FOOD - Grilled Cheese lang na-try ko on my two visits. Pero it's really good!
PLACE - Conducive for working and/or studying. Di siya napupuno or nagiging crowded that much. Mostly ng customers nila yun mga nag-woworkout sa katabing box - getting their pre-WOD boost.
PRICE - Prices are quite medium to medyo high especially sa food.
SINGLE ORIGIN (Bonifacio High Street Central & Greenbelt 3)DRINK - For non-coffee drinkers, go for their Hot Chocolate Valrhona or Japan Matcha Latte. For coffee, I really like the Salted Caramel Latte. Well, I'm a Latte guy!
FOOD - For the food, we tried the Sausage Platter consisting of a few kinds of sausage like Hungarian, Smokey cheesey Bavarian, Frankfurter. For the dessert, I didn't remember anything na parang gusto ko ulit-ulitin.
PLACE - A Speak-easy kind of place. Both branches are dim-lighted, so parang more into late nights tong place na to and not totally for working remotely - unless daytime.
PRICE - Medium to high rin, though worth it din siya.
BO'S COFFEE PRIMO (Shangrila Plaza)50% of the time na working remotely ako, dito ako nagpupunta. Malapit kasi sa bahay and accessible sa ibang mga shops dahil nasa loob ng mall. Di rin ganung matao and chill lang.
DRINK - Go for Latte or Caramel Latte (if you want the sweeter one). Their Cappuccino is also good.
FOOD - Their All-Day Breakfast meals are good and sulit. It was served with kesong puti omelette with ripe mangoes and salsa on the side. I usually go for Chicken Tocino, Tapa, and Longganisa. For desserts, I love their Dulce de Leche cake. Matamis talaga to, so take this as a warning.
PRICE - Sulit! Worth it siya for 295pesos, talking about the breakfast plate.
PLACE - Daanan ng tao but di siya ganun ka-ingay. Chill lang!
COFFEE BY YDG (Mandala Park, Mandaluyong City)Another go-to place aside sa Bo's Primo in Shang. Along Shaw Blvd. so much nearer from my place.
DRINK - Latte as always. By the way, their beans are from El Union coffee. My friends recommended me to try Spiced Mocha so I might check it out soon.
FOOD - Grilled Cheese sandwich and YDG Egg Sandwich.
PLACE - A laid-back place for working or studying. Mostly ng nakakasabay ko pumunta rito eh working rin and studying - so expect na talagang tahimik. Their playlist is also cool. Mostly local indie and indiepop songs.
PRICE - Definitely much cheaper ng mga 30% from others I mentioned.
TOBY'S ESTATE COFFEE (Eastwood Mall, Salcedo Village, Shangrila Hotel The Fort and Shangrila Plaza Mall)My favorite coffee in the city!
DRINK - Latte, Cappuccino, Flat White (though Costa's Flat White is much better, IMO), Long Black. For non-coffee drinkers, go for Chai Chocolate!
FOOD - I usually go for the bagels with Jalapeno Cream cheese. Calamansi Pie was quite a hit-and-miss for me. Pistachio Cheesecake is also a must-try!
PLACE - The Eastwood mall branch is small which is ideal lang for hangouts or "short-time COCOLs". The others one are quite conducive for working especially the one in Shang Fort. Not that crowded rin.
PRICE - Medium
