I kinda like the layout and the interactive banner.
Some remarks:
HOMEPAGE
1. It would be better if you highlight some of your latest blog posts on the homepage, i.e. Highlight blog post or destination. It's a great way to promote more of your blog contents than just the static contents. Something like this => my friend's blog - https://www.thetravellingtongue.com (https://www.thetravellingtongue.com)
2. It would also be much nicer if you a mini-gallery on the footer of your page. But that's just a "nice to have" kind of feature for your website.
SIDEBAR Component
1. Aside from Recent blog posts and ads, maybe you can put in some "Top Contents" or "Top Posts", i.e. Most Visited, Most Rated, etc.
2. Put in your social media links (if there's any), or might as well Content widgets of Facebook page or Instagram Feed (if applicable).
