Title: Stocks and Equities
Post by: Jhaygonzales on February 04, 2015, 09:59:37 PM
Hello PGG. Sinu po pala dito ang nag iinvest sa equities. Sabi ng mga market analysts, our market will continue to rise due to our country's good macroeconomics and good fundamentals (Low inflation, low interest rates, high GDP growth). May I know lang sa mga members ang investors and if u don't mind pde ko din ba malaman portfolio mo? Hehe thanks

Grabe sobrang  luma na pala nitong thread na ito. That will actually depend on your goals and risk profile. Since you are 80-20, I am assuming your risk appetite is high. But your stock picks are kinda conservative. These names are no longer growth stories except for SM. Gun for mid-cap firms if you're after capital gains.

^waaaah sabi ko magpapatakbo ako ng model nawala sa isip. sooorrry

well yes. yung part time ko ngayon ay investing pa rin naman. yung model ay actually ginagamit namin sa US and EU stocks. ni try lang namin patakbuhin sa Pinas. surprisingly, sobrang nag work sya. in the last 5 years, outperform nya benchmark.

yung huling patakbo, ang naalala ko na names ay WPI, PMPC, STI, at SGI.

Stocks and Equities are more popular these days than before. Before, people are really afraid of going on to this venture. But now, especially with stocks, people are more aggressive in spending their extra (take note: extra) money to the stock market. Other investments can also be a good alternative like Real Estate (http://www.century-properties.com/) (if you have those extra money to splurge.), VUL options (Combination of Insurance and Equity/Stocks) and for some, Cryptocurrencies. At the end of this, you need to study and analyze and understand the pros and cons of each things. End goal: even if you'll lose some, you'll gain a whole lot of thing here.

I am not sure if this is applicable in the Philippines. But in the US, when laypeople talk about stocks or celebrities make comments on the market, it most often than not is a warning: it's time to sell.
