Title: Internet Service Provider for the home
Post by: nevinct on May 14, 2012, 04:51:09 PM
Guys, tulong naman, which internet service provider would you recommend? I live in QC near kalayaan / east avenue and am choosing between sky broadband and pldt mydsl.

The package I'm considering is the 2-3mbps and this will be shared via router to 6 laptops and a ps3. The laptops won't be active at the same time naman and the ps3 won't need constant connection the whole day.

The family mostly surfs, posts pictures, and watches youtube. Occasionally, I download torrents but only at night - early morning.

Get a feedback sa kapitbahay ninyo. That's the best thing so can assure na maayos yung connection. Most ISP nowadays merong pros and cons.

MY verdict on PLDT : WORST among all other existing ISP sa manila, though kahit hindi congested they're still not compensating for the loss so unfair talaga. Went to different places na rin and I can say it's not really good IMHO. And speaking of service feedback ambagal jusko, may kakilala ako, took them 5 working days bago bumalik internet ulit. no pun intended and im trying not to be biased at all.

Dragon Nest SEA conducted a speedmatch party dito sa iba't ibang lugar dito sa pinas kamakailan lang, Guess what? Uber-POOR connection. Latency beyond hell during peak hours. Hindi sya competitive compare sa ibang ISP.

T.S. Ano ba need mo Symmetric or Assymetric? And I have nothing against PLDT at hindi ko naman ginegeneralize, Cheers!

PLDT DSL yung amin. OK naman sya. Mabilis naman. Kaya lang pag may problema tapos nawalan ng internet umaabot ng almost one week bago mabalik.

Salamat sa replies. Verdict kasi dito sa office, pldt is better kasi more stable connection. and the gamers said better din pldt for their online gaming and from this blog post (http://abuggedlife.com/2012/05/16/diablo-3-internet-connection-quality-philippines/), gamer consensus daw is to avoid sky at all costs.

I'm not a gamer but i do download torrents and watch streaming videos often and i remember being with sky early last year i had to use mobile wifi pa just to complain about their services. I was hoping they cghanged already but this post convinced me otherwise.

so if not pldt and not sky? ano pa ba yung ok na isp?

How about applying for a T-line or fiber optics? kidding :D

Lahat kasi ng nago-offer ng Internet Access ngayon eh may Pros and Cons. Subukan mo yung may 1-month/week free trial (kung meron man cla)
