nope. not now. sabog ang stock market eh. kung maliit lang ang puhunan, doon ka sa government funds. in the long run, maganda ang movement ng mutual funds, unless, malaki ang capital inflow mo.

ah ganun ba?..pano yung sa government funds, bale ano yung difference?
Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: pong on October 27, 2011, 04:11:28 PM

now my question is, pano ako magiinvest sa government funds, san ako magsisimula?sino kokontakin ko?..hehehe..dami tanong..

by the way, may investment ka ba sa government funds?

i just want to add na ok ang government bonds. Sureball na may balik ang investments mo kasi its government. Since its a risk-free investment the rate is very low. Remember from finance 101 "the higher the risk, the higher the return. the lower the risk, the lower the return."

Chinese culture dictates that you should be your own boss.

Another thing, majority of filipinos they only know one kind of investment and that is putting it in the bank.
Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: pong on January 11, 2012, 05:13:24 PM
^good observation, geo, and welcome to the club!

Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: geo on January 11, 2012, 05:24:56 PM
thanks pong.

tama ka. When it comes to business orientation, iba tlaga sa chinese. Takot sa risks ang mga pinoy. Although medyo shaky pa mag invest ngaun, pero those who take the risks now sila yung biglang yaman naman kapag nakabawi ang world market.

best bet for now: currency market.
Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: geo on January 12, 2012, 09:43:08 AM

If kakastart mo plang siguro kumita ng pera, its best to invest sa low risk-low return muna. :) Pinaghihirapan yun. :P (with a few exceptions siguro :P)
Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: pong on January 12, 2012, 11:05:51 AM
highest risk is putting up a business. bakit? malaki ang kailangang investment capital, at matindi ang red tape. mahigpit ang regulasyon sa pasweldo at pagre-remit ng vat, plus independent audit. 3 1/2 years pa bago ka maka-breakeven. problema mo pa ay yung expertise (OK, magha-hire ako ng expert, so another investment).

Mutual Funds. Inquire lang kayo sa BDO Capital or BPI Asset Management. Minimum investment, depende. Pero isipin niyo, kung maghuhulog kayo ng 10,000 buwan-buwan nang walang mintis, in 10 years may P2.5M na kayo. masaya yan. may retirement savings na.

not necessarily, for as low as 5k, you can invest isa mutual fund.

OT : Mutual funds are pooled investments, it means that the money came from different people and collected under co. or instituitions at iniinvest nila un in different financial instruments like bonds, stocks, money market atbp. One of the advatage of investing in investing in mutual fund ay hindi mo na kailangan i-monitor ung investment mo kasi ung co. na ung may bahala na magpalago ng pera mo. for more info try to visit mutualfundphilippines.com.  :) ;D :)

I invested a bit of my savings two years ago in a mutual fund, as of now 25% increase na. That's quite modest, pero still more than what any time deposit / bank interest could give me.

The best time to start investing is after you have your emergency fund set (2-3 months worth of salary). just make sure that you won't need to touch your investments for a few years and it will grow eventually.

Most of us ganito ang equation pagkatanggap ng salary nila.....

Salary-expenses-luho=pag may natira savings...

When it should be...

Salary-savings-expenses=ang natira luho.....

Savings is 10-20% of your salary... :)

Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: nevinct on May 29, 2012, 03:42:20 PM
^ short answer: the present.

Very hard to predict the market so cost averaging works for me rather than a one time big time investment splurge. for example you have 100k to invest; splitting it into 5 months deposit of 20k each or 10 months deposit of 10k per month would (roughly) negate the constant up and down price changes.

^salamat po sir nevinct. Additional pa po, worth it po ba ang mutual fund as a passive investment? Kung sa 100k, gaano po ba kalaki ang roi in 2 to 3 years based on experience?
Title: Re: Mutual funds
Post by: kaloy on August 09, 2012, 10:54:01 PM
Worth it naman, kasi may return ka for sure. Mababa nga lang compared to stock market. Just remember, "The higher the risk, the higher the return."

Ayon kay FAMI, as of today, 36.14% ang projected 3yr-return nila. Bale FV(Future Value) = 100,000 (1 + .3614) Kung sa stock market mo yan ininvest, for sure mas malaki ang kita mo dyan. Let's take PGOLD as an example. PGOLD closed at 11.00php on its first day, but now, it closed at 27.75php. That's more than 100% return in less than 10 months. October last year pa lang nagIPO si PGOLD ha. At 2 months ago binili nya si S&R at Parco. Which means maganda ang future ng company.hehe At pag maganda ang company, chances are, gaganda sya sa mata ng investors at tataas ang price nya.hehe But thats just my two cents. I'm no expert. :)

Uy interesting to ah. Meron silang workshop every 2-3 weeks.
