i have a pet layla. she's a somewhat 14 year old dog.. i can't remember.., one night she was left outside the house on saturday..,
i woke up on sunday and saw splattered blood outside our house., there are also blood on the street and from afar. layla lies bathing at her own blood while being sorrounded with lots of people. she was stubbed by my neanderthal neighbor. they did not evolve into modern human so they still hunt.,
my dog layla is still alive and tries to lift her head to see me., I approach her and saw her intestines were already outside her body., I try to put it back to her stomach but she twitches with extreme pain., So I pick her up and brought her home.
Behind the metal doors of our house, I put her on the floor. And suddenly, my eyes shed tears as I look at her horid state., I kept crying until she starts to shake.. breathing for her last breath.. then her shaking stop.. And her eyes.. closed.. I hug her tight as though she's my sister as I remember everything.. from she being a puppy, her first puppies, the first person she bite, she being sick, she loosing her teeth and having her fur turned white.
I left her on the floor and went upstairs with my shirt stained with blood., I sit in front a mirror and cried again., Then I decide to bury her. I went down and put her remains inside a sack. I went outside.

the music one of my neighbor plays as I took her inside a trycicle to visit our old house. We have a small hill in our old house and I dig a hole in that hill. Around 3 feet deep. With tears in my eyes, I drop the sack in the hole and covered it.., It was Sunday morning..

I had the same exp... We had a chick.. na pinalake nmin na prang teenager na chicken.., Tpos one day.., nakita na lang nmin ung isang wing nya sa damuhan.. and my other dog (anak ni layla) sleep with satisfaction..,
Ung first dalmatian namin pinangalan namin Hachi (yes, i know probably millions of puppies named hachi/hachiko after that movie). Nagka-parvo siya. Nagdusa. Namatay. :( :( I miss her.
Morale of the story: try not to name your pets after personalities with a tragic story. (e.g. casper, hachiko)
Hehe, got 3 dogs at home, which I terribly miss...

napancn qng nagddrama ung isang pusa naming babae.. bale first time nya palang ang ma-inlove or something.. biruin mo.. ang ingay-ingay sa terrace. nag-eemote.. tpos biglang lalabas ng bahay pag gabi nang walang paalam tpos uuwe na lang ng bahay sa madaling araw.. geez..

isang kabarkada ko nag-brebreed ng husky din. tanungin ko nga yun kung meron available. sobrang active din ng mga husky.
yung mga labrador, i think they have the warmest personality for dogs. gusto ko nga kumuha ng isa, kaso marami na kami dogs.
kung lilipat ako ng bahay, i'd probably get a labrador, and a lap dog - preferrably a Yorkshire terrier. One cat. And maybe an aquarium (di ako sure, bka ubusin ng cat)

I loved everything about them and their touch -- because your touch was now so infrequent -- and I would've defended them with my life if need be. I would sneak into their beds and listen to their worries and secret dreams, and together we waited for the sound of your car in the driveway.
There had been a time, when others asked you if you had a dog, that you produced a photo of me from your wallet and told them stories about me. These past few years, you just answered "yes" and changed the subject. I had gone from being "your dog" to "just a dog," and you resented every expenditure on my behalf.
Now, you have a new career opportunity in another city, and you and they will be moving to an apartment that does not allow pets. You've made the right decision for your "family," but there was a time when I was your only family.
I was excited about the car ride until we arrived at the animal shelter. It smelled of dogs and cats, of fear, of hopelessness. You filled out the paperwork and said "I know you will find a good home for her." They shrugged and gave you a pained look. They understand the realities facing a middle-aged dog, even one with "papers."
You had to pry your son's fingers loose from my collar as he screamed, "No, Daddy! Please don't let them take my dog!" And I worried for him, and what lessons you had just taught him about friendship and loyalty, about love and responsibility, and about respect for all life.
You gave me a good-bye pat on the head, avoided my eyes, and politely refused to take my collar and leash with you. You had a deadline to meet and now I have one, too. After you left, the two nice ladies said you probably knew about your upcoming move months ago and made no attempt to find me another good home. They shook their heads and asked "How could you?"
They are as attentive to us here in the shelter as their busy schedules allow. They feed us, of course, but I lost my appetite days ago.
At first, whenever anyone passed my pen, I rushed to the front, hoping it was you that you had changed your mind -- that this was all a bad dream... or I hoped it would at least be someone who cared, anyone who might save me.
When I realized I could not compete with the frolicking for attention of happy puppies, oblivious to their own fate, I retreated to a far corner and waited. I heard her footsteps as she came for me at the end of the day, and I padded along the aisle after her to a separate room. A blissfully quiet room.
She placed me on the table and rubbed my ears, and told me not to worry. My heart pounded in anticipation of what was to come, but there was also a sense of relief. The prisoner of love had run out of days.
As is my nature, I was more concerned about her. The burden which she bears weighs heavily on her, and I know that, the same way I knew your every mood.
She gently placed a tourniquet around my foreleg as a tear ran down her cheek. I licked her hand in the same way I used to comfort you so many years ago.
She expertly slid the hypodermic needle into my vein. As I felt the sting and the cool liquid coursing through my body, I lay down sleepily, looked into her kind eyes and murmured "How could you?"
Perhaps because she understood my dogspeak, she said "I'm so sorry." She hugged me, and hurriedly explained it was her job to make sure I went to a better place, where I wouldn't be ignored or abused or abandoned, or have to fend for myself --a place of love and light so very different from this earthly place.
And with my last bit of energy, I tried to convey to her with a thump of my tail that my "How could you?" was not directed at her. It was directed at you, My Beloved Master, I was thinking of you. I will think of you and wait for you forever. May everyone in your life continue to show you so much loyalty.

^^ Nag-inarte yung aso sa tabi ko. Si Puti. Yung sumigaw n parang pinalo mo pero wala ka namang ginagawa. So, naubus ung paxenxa q at naghanap ng gamit sa ilalim ng dining table.. I found... a wicked item... a huge wrench! So kinuha ko yun tapos hinatak ko yung tali at pinaghahampas siya ng madameng beses.. Tang*** mo! Tang*** mo! Nanggigigel pa ako. Kasama lahat ng lungkot at galit sa love life ko.
Bumaba si Papa to make me stop. And took the dog away from the dining table. Nilagay siya dun sa gilingan.. I remember when Granpa was still alive.. His finger got stuck dun sa gilingan and he's hand is being pulled in to be crushed as well. But Mom came to rescue and step on the breaks.
Well, hinde nmn xa napuruhan kase mabait naman ako. Tapos ayun, nagbehave na siya.. Hinde na siya maingay.. Gumaan din ang feelings ko. Nakaka-release pala iyon ng stres.. Hmm...
Burger Cat look at me.. Meow! And I came and pet him. 'Good cat!'. 'Meow!'. Prr.. pprr... Suprtisingly the female cat is sitting beside him. So I didn't take long to pet him and give him some 'privacy'.
Today the female cat is sleeping in my bed.. And I saw something.. Hmm.. there's a wound in the neck.. You.. burger cat.. you are so wicked like your master. Hahaha! Go on.

@carpe: toilet training is only available when they are still pups. The whole idea is to bring them every 4 hours or so out of the house (or where you want them to do potty) and bring them back after they're done with their business. Of course, there's a whole waiting thing at first but later when they grow a little older on this routine, they will cry/complain/whimper when they are not at their "potty place" signaling that they want to.

binenta namin 3 of our puppies (lhasa apso-shi tzu mix). kakalungkot. pero ok na siguro yun. ang gastos kase ng madaming aso. anyway, we are still left with 11 dogs.
food and bayad sa vet lalo na pag sabay sabay nagkakasakit. buti na alang puro small dogs lang amin. at least di ganun kadami kinakain. anyway plan ko din naman gawin negosyo na lang. kase malamang dadami pa to. out of 11 , 6 ang babae ( 4 chichuahua, 1 lhasa apso, 1 lhasa apso-shi tzu mix).so un, pag nabuntis, ibebenta na lang namin ung mga anak. ang problem lang sa amin ng pamilya ko, mahirap kameng maglet go ng mga aso namin. we just adore them so much. pero kailangan maging praktikal. hirap ng buhay ngayon.

^^di naman malaki ang bahay. sapat lang. not all of them are potty trained. di naman kase sila lahat sa loob ng bahay nagsstay. sa ngayon ung 4 chihuahua lang ang pakalat kalat sa loob ng bahay, and they have a spot where they go out and do their thing--sa terrace. ung ibang dogs naman, nakacage. ung iba din nagpupupu sa cage. gusto talaga nila sa labas ng cage nila gawin un. umiiyak naman sila pag gusto na nila magpupu eh. hehe. pag di napansin at di na napigilan, dun lang sila tatae sa cage. pero kita mo na nandidiri sila sa tae nila. nilalayuan talaga tapos umiiyak hanggat di nalilinis. haha.
Hmm. Ou nga, kung ako sa'yo, sa dami-dami nila, i-cacage ko rin. Pero gagawin ko'ng palalabasin ko sila sa cage nila at least a few hours per day para magdumi. Dba nakakaapekto rin sa pagiging agresibo nila pag palagi nakatali/nasa cage?

after two years na hindi nakikita yung dog ko, nakita ko ulit siya this week lang. grabe, kilalang kilala pa niya ako. yung kita mong excited yung aso, nagwawag yung tail, nag-iingay, talon ng talon sa akin. wow, bilib ako sa aso... kaya siya man's bestfriend.
totoo yan doc,subok ko na din yan. si fei fei, napunta lang sakin dahil pinagbawal na sa kanila yung aso, siguro after ng mga ilang months, dinala ko ulit sa kanila, then, nakilala pa din silang lahat. nakakatuwa talaga yung mga aso

@Luc: from what i know, kapag di na masyado kumakain, may sakit na yun, and usually the event happens very quickly
^hey carpe, i'm slightly over this loss. i guess it's my fault for not paying more attention to her health. clearly, i wouldn't have overlooked this otherwise.
although, i'm still slightly hoping for this page of the thread to be buried. xD hehe
