Just when most of us thought that the P990i “maybe” the end of the Pxxx series for Sony Ericsson, we found ourselves wrong with the introduction of its successor, the Sony Ericsson P1i

The Sony Ericsson P1i is a business phone. It’s main features include:

•A QWERTY (full aphanumeric) keypad which has been introduced to other SE phones as well, though unlike previous PXXX series, the P1i’s keypad cannot be flipped
A 3.2 Megapixel Camera, with autofocus and flash PLUS business card scanner
2.6 inch screen touchscreen display
3G, WLAN, VOiP and WiFi – ready. It means you have more connections through the Internet and you’re virtually connected everywhere
Integrated music and video player
Includes Opera web browser with support for feeds
Document viewers for Word, Powerpoint, Excel
Packed with 512 MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) expandable memory and 160 MB User Memory (internal)

I’ve already seen the P1i available in the Philippine market today and costing 26,590 Pesos.

Wow oki new phone ah! Pero what really surprised me is the price! Normally mga UIQ nila is overpriced when released to the market, mga around 40k initially! Pero this? woah! Panalo talaga! Hehehe…

Hehe, I was expecting an initial price of 40 thou too. I think their having a tough competition with Nokia N95 at 30 thousand so they decided to drop the price as well..

pero ayos na talaga to sa ganitong presyo. Yun nga lang mahihirapan pa rin sila kalabanin ang N95

This is a nice Smartphone. The camera is up to par with the phones carrying the Cybershot name and the music player is at par with the SE’s Walkman line of phones. I was also surprised to know that this won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The cheapest one I saw is at around 23k. Very sweet deal if you ask me.

23k? good for you. where did you see that?

anyway i aint sure if i’ll get used to the alphanumeric keypad, where 2 letters equal to 1 button…
