90% of PGG readers agree that boys do cry

Two weeks ago, I heard the old but still nice song “Boys Don’t Cry” over the radio. Ever since, I was so intrigued by the title to the point that I’ve conducted a poll here on PGG to find out what readers think about that phrase.

Surprisingly 90% of PGG readers agree that boys DO cry and it’s OK for boys to cry. I actually believe the same thing. You see, men are still human beings…

So to those who voted in the poll, tell your opinions by posting a comment below on why or why you don’t think that boys should cry.

  • On my own perspective, I actually see those “boys don’t cry” thingies as non-sensical. No offense meant for those who voted for boys should not cry.

There’s not much difference actually between boys and girls. The one clearly visible is the anatomical features of both sexes, that is their external apperance.

Boys dont cry is so the dictum of the men of yesteryears. Where it is not accepted in the society that men would cry as that would eradicate their masculinity features daw.

Boys should CRY! As that would only be their outlet to express their emotions, and never be ashamed of crying. If crying is the way to release the tension deep within you, then cry.

According to research, more men die because of deep problems. Problems that are stored and piled up in their hearts because of their reluctance to express it. Do you want to die early? Nobody does, right?

But warning though. Express it in a way that you woulnd’t put anybody’s life into harm.

    That’s it.

P.S.: Interesting topic, Chris. It actually made me think to post an article relating to it on my blog tuloy. Ahehe.

  • Good points Patricio!

I think that men should express their emotions too. But of course, this should be done in a “manly” way.

  • Crying doesn’t define who you are. It only proves how much that issue/subject means to you.

Boys can/should/needs to cry sometimes…just keep it private. haha..

  • Um, is it really necessary to keep it private? What if the thingy happened in a public place? You’ll run and look for a private place and dun mo ibuhos ang iyak mo. Eh di para mo paring kinakahiya na umi.iyak ka?

Think logically, it is still the same.

But I agree that crying doesn’t define who you are. Nice point.
