iPod Shuffle 3G is the talking iPod

ipod-shuffle-3g

When you first see the new iPod Shuffle, you will never know what it is until you see Apple’s logo on it. It’s so small. It’s about the size of a paper clip or a locker key at 1.8 inches tall and 0.3 inch thin. It has no buttons in front.

Why is it the talking iPod? Well since it has no LCD display to show what’s the song currently being played, it makes use of a voice-over instead to say what’s the title of the song or if you are already running low on battery. Nice one huh?

So if there are no playback controls then how do you control it? Actually, there are playback and volume controls, not on the player but on the earphone – something which might be a drawback in case you would want to use a different earphone from a different manufacturer.

Anyway here is a photo comparing the old 2nd generation iPod shuffle with the new one.

Even if I find the voice-over and the size very much astounding – I don’t think it’s for me. If I would buy an iPod, I’ll go for the higher-end models. So how about you? Do you think this iPod is for you?

  • yes, same. would go for the ipod classic/nanochromatic.

the controls are effing messed up.. and yes, cant use third party earphones. not a good buy..

  • ipod shuffle is the WORST creation from apple… ewan ko ba sa kanila, bakit gawa parin sila ng gawa.. i’d rather buy china mp4s eh.. mas madami pang features at mas mura pa! yung china mp4 ko, almost 2 years na sa akin buhay pa! 😀

  • Yep it’s for me, sa tulad ko na gusto mga gamit ay compact at maliliit from cellphones, music players etc. basta anything bigger than my wallet naiilang na ako and as long as it serve its purpose okay na sya sa akin.

  • @Jeff,
Agree. I currently own an mp4. Yung mga Chinese made na klase, pero imitation ng Apple, right? Ok din naman eh. Mura pa. Ang pang MP3 ng Apple ay pwede ng dalawang MP4 na China-made, haha.

  • Shuffle is great… I used it during my workout… very small, cute & perfect for workout, can’t barely notice it… though i dont use the shuffle feature, i just put it on the regular play mode so i know the lineup in my list… hehhe

  • I think if you prefer small gadgets this one is definitely for you.

If you like going to the gym, this one is nice to have due to its size.

  • no… this ipod shuffle was a mistake… a tragic mistake, they went uber-minimalist and made a product that costs $20 to make and sells it for $70…

if you want an ipod for the gym your better off buying the previous model…

    just my 2 cents
