Pinoy Shirts: The BOMB!

Whoever is pushing the latest trend on Pinoy Shirts to the mainstream market and retail stores should get an award. I have never before seen Filipino men and women wearing Filipino-themed shirts out loud and proud!

I think that it is definitely time for us to be proud of our country. So instead of wearing the usual “foreign” shirts with letters spelled out as “USA”, “Los Angeles”, “Atlantic City”, “Singapore” and several others, why not be proud and wear our very own Philippine shirts?

I remember this phenomenon started with the Adidas Philippine Track Jacket, then the “I AM NINOY” shirts and now, it has become more diverse and widespread than ever. There are even some graphic tees containing three stars and a sun, photos of Rizal and several other famous Filipinos. It’s really nationalism at its finest.

I hope that this style will continue to make us Filipinos proud of our culture and make the world aware that we can start our very own style and fashion statement! So guys out there: buy and support our very own local shirts!

  • Yeah Chris.

I saw one shirt here in Davao, I think it’s from Bench.

Plain black shirt lang, tapos sun rays at the center, and 3 stars around it in gold print. It’s awesome. Planning to buy it next week.

I think it’s the same one you’re referring to in your description above.

  • colleczione….(check my spelling)
sila ang brand na tatak sa kanilang mga shirts ai PHIL. ARCHIPELAGO

    super ganda…..

  • this pinoy bring-back-our-nationalism fashion is taking us by storm.

I have been supporting this so-called movement to be a proud pinoy.
from getting the pinoy pop introduced by bench couple of years ago to spoofs to team manila to rock-ed nation to the most recent i know yabang pinoy and even mainstream brands are also joining the bandwagon.

i hope they dont overdo it…

by the way, the adidas pilipinas jacket has a similar counterpart in nike also on the philippine flag but much more subtle as the issue on the respect for the flag might be opened up again.

  • Wow! I have one and it’s nice! Wahehehe!

Chris, i think this answers the need discussed in your previous post about Pinoy becoming a trendsetter…

  • @Patricio

It think the shirt you were referring belongs to the clothing line owned by Francis Magalona.

Here is the link of the sample shirts.

P.S. Just change the hxxp with http.

  • @Franz

I’ve seen the pictures in your link. Kaso mukhang medyo iba ata. Although the design is exactly the same “3 stars around a sun and its rays”, the design I saw here was that the “stars and the sun” was big enough to cover the entire front shirt.

Kumbaga, first star of the left arm banda, the second star on the right arm banda, tapos ung third star is in the belt mo n banda. Got what I mean?

Di ako maxadong sure sa pics, kasi as I see it, parang nasa top-most part lang ng shirt ang design, though I must say na maganda din naman. Kaso ala atang ganyan dito eh.

    Thanks.

P.S.: For others’ benefits, Franz your link should have been http://didokd.multiply.com/photos/album/14/14#21 ; naka hxxp kasi iyo. πŸ™‚

  • @Chris

Chris, I think I’m wrong in labeling the design as a Bench shirt. Wala kanina eh when I went to the mall.

Do you know exactly where it is being sold? I mean its brand? Thanks.

  • wow! chris you are great! not just setting men trends but you are now part of Department of Tourism! lol.. aheheh
    way to go brother!

  • haha @ butITs. well, let’s just say I love our country, the Philippines, a lot! πŸ™‚

    but why Tourism anyway? haha

  • i’ve been a fan of team manila shirts for years now. meron akong 3 of their calssic designs. and just 2 weeks ago, i bought this really cool black shirt in greenhills. de-constructed philippine flag ‘yung design. hanep!
